AFC was started as a manifestation of promoting a sense of unity and Godly excitement

in the young people of the greater Barboursville, WV area. We are a completely free of

charge open to the public event. We will have bands, skits, puppets, sign teams, and

preaching. It is our goal to use this event to uplift our children by providing them a

welcome environment to praise and worship God.

We are an event like Break Free (www.breakfreelc.com). This is our first year, and we are

doing one day. Next year we hope to do two days, God's grace. The organizers of Break

Free are acting as mentors for our event allowing us to benefit from their lessons learned

and experience. We also have the involvement of other such initiatives in the

Barboursville area such as “Focus WV” (www.focuswv.com ) from Huntington, WV and

“Unity Project in Christ” (http://www.myspace.com/530909313) in Hurricane, WV.

Our name is a double-entendre. Amp'd stands for "Amphitheatre", which is the venue

(the outdoor amphitheater at Barboursville Park) and it also stands for "Amplified." Our

mission is to lift up, and encourage others, to lift up the name of Christ by amplifying our

praise with Godly lives. We are not affiliating this event with any particular church or

denomination. It is all about Him.
